BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team will look to head into the holiday break on a high note when the Huskies travel to Central Connecticut State on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
Â
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. SERIES HISTORY VS. CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE
Northeastern and CCSU are meeting for the 13th time in team history, and first since 2013. The Huskies own a 10-2 edge in the all-time series, including victories in each of the last three meetings.
Â
2. NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE
After missing the previous two games with an injury,
Joe Pridgen returned to the lineup in a big way at No. 22/21 Virginia. The redshirt senior recorded 11 points, a game-high 13 rebounds and season-high four assists. Pridgen is one of four Huskies averaging double figures with 10.3 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game that are second on the team.
Â
3. ON THE GLASS
The Huskies have outrebounded opponents in eight of their 11 games this season, including each of the last three games.
Chris Doherty leads the team and is sixth in the CAA with 79 rebounds (7.2 rpg). Doherty is on pace to lead the team in rebounding for the third straight season, and would be just the seventh Husky since 1960 to do so (Jim Moxley, Chip Rucker, Mark Halsel, Reggie Lewis, Lin Lattimore, Bolden Brace).
