THREE THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. SERIES HISTORY VS. RHODE ISLAND
Northeastern and Rhode Island are meeting for the 79th time in team history, and first since 2010. The Rams own a 69-9 edge in the all-time series, that dates back to 1920, including victories in each of the last 14 meetings. The Huskies are in search of their first win vs. URI since Dec. 2, 1989.
Â
2. ROAD DOGS
Northeastern will be looking to earn its third true road victory of the season on Saturday, after winning three in each of the last two seasons combined.
Harold Woods leads the team averaging 11.0 points per game and shooting 67% from the field, while
Chris Doherty is averaging 10.4 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game in seven away contests to date.
Â
3. COMEBACK KIDS
The Huskies went into the holiday break after a 79-74 win at Central Connecticut State on Dec. 19, erasing a 13-point second half deficit in the process. It was the largest deficit Northeastern has overcome to win a game this season, and largest since coming back from 16 down to top Delaware on the road in 2022-23.
