BOSTON— Senior goaltender
Gwyneth Philips of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey has been named a semifinalist for the Women's Hockey Goalie of the Year Award as announced on Thursday.

The Women's Hockey Commissioners Association announced 11 goalies as semifinalists after previously naming 28 goalies to a "watch list." Voting was carried out by a panel of coaches, administrators and media members from across the country.

Philips currently leads the nation in goals against average (.78), save percentage (.961), wins (24) and shutouts (9). Philips has played over 1600 minutes for the Huskies this season and has yet to allow more than two goals in a single outing in her entire career.

The Athens, Ohio native follows in the footsteps of former Husky great
Aerin Frankel who is the only recipient of the Goalie of the Year Award since it was first established in 2021. Three finalists will be announced during conference championships and the winner will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four in Duluth.
