BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team (9-17, 5-10) had four players reach double figures and used a 35-10 run to close the first half to run past Monmouth (6-22, 5-10) on Thursday night at Matthews Arena, 77-62.

The victory moves the Huskies into a five-way tie for eighth place in the conference standings with three regular season games remaining.

The Huskies dominated the glass all night, holding a 44-33 edge including a career-high 19 from
Joe Pridgen, tied for the most for any CAA player this season. Pridgen added nine points, while
Jahmyl Telfort added a team-high 17 on 7-of-15 shooting. He was joined in double figures by
Masai Troutman (12 points on 5-of-9) while
Alexander Nwagha and
Rashad King added 10 points apiece.

As a team, Northeastern finished 27-of-62 from the field and 9-of-31 from three, with 17 assists on the 27 made baskets.Â

Klemen Vuga tried to keep the Hawks in it with a game-high 23 points on a 9-of-17 effort from the field. Jack Collins added 11 points and four rebounds for a Monmouth squad that shot 38% overall (21-of-55) and 2-of-6 from long range.

• After starting the night 3-of-11 from the floor, Northeastern caught fire with a 35-10 run to head into the locker room with a 44-22 lead. NU finished the half 15-of-33 overall and 6-of-19 from deep, with
Jared Turner leading the way with nine points (3-of-3 from three) along with 10 boards from Pridgen.

• The Husky defense held the Hawks to just a 29% showing from the field (8-of-27) and forced Monmouth into nine turnovers. Collins and Vuga had a team-high seven points.

• Northeastern kept its foot on the gas into the second half, never letting Monmouth get closer than 15 the rest of the way, allowing the Huskies to empty the bench late in the game.
