BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team received 28 points from
Jahmyl Telfort and used a 16-2 start to set the tone in a wire-to-wire victory over William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena, 69-57.

Telfort finished the day 12-of-23 overall, the third time this season a Husky has made at least 10 field goals and the most field goal attempts for a Husky in two years.
Jared Turner joined him in double figures with 10 points as the Huskies finished the day 27-of-57 from the floor and 8-of-14 from three and collecting 18 assists on the 27 made buckets.

William & Mary, meanwhile, was 20-of-47 overall and 6-of-22 from deep, led by 15 points from Ben Wight.

Chris Doherty,
Coleman Stucke and manager Patrick Isberg for their contributions to the Northeastern men's basketball program.

• Northeastern was red hot to start the afternoon, opening the game 7-of-11 from the floor to take a 16-2 lead in the first six minutes of the game, forcing an early William & Mary timeout.

• The hot shooting continued throughout the half with the Huskies going 17-of-31 overall and 6-of-9 from three to lead by as many as 23 in the first. Telfort (16) and Turner (10) led the way as the Huskies turned nine Tribe turnovers into 17 points.

• William & Mary, meanwhile, was held to an 8-of-24 showing from the field and 4-of-13 from deep, with Wight leading the way with eight points in a half that ended with the Huskies up, 45-25.

• Northeastern remained in control of the game throughout the second half, not letting the Tribe get within more than 11 as Telfort poured in another 12 points on 5-of-8 from the floor.

The Huskies will head on the road for the final weekend of the regular season, beginning on Thursday night at Drexel. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on FloHoops.
