BOSTON – The Northeastern women's basketball team (12-11, 7-5 CAA) is set to hit the road to take on Drexel (18-6, 10-3 CAA) on Friday, February 17 at 6 pm, and then host Hofstra (9-14, 3-9 CAA) on Sunday, February 19 at 3 pm.
In partnership with NUBAC and The Northeastern Black Student Association, Sunday will be the Huskies' Black History Month Game. Northeastern will be hosting various Divine 9 organizations, local businesses, and student groups with a special halftime performance by Northeastern SOAL!
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- LAST TIME OUT – The Huskies held-off a furious fourth quarter rally by host Hampton, to earn a hard-fought 72-67 victory on Sunday. In the win, graduate student JaMiya Braxton scored eight of her 19 points in the fourth, while junior Derin Erdogan scored 17 of her 19 points in the first half.
- DREXEL/HOFSTRA REWIND – The Dragons and Huskies last met on February 3 in Boston, with the visitors winning, 67-56. Erdogan tallied a team-high 13 points, while senior Jaelyn Batts notched 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Braxton also had double-figures with 10 points. Northeastern and Hofstra last faced one another in Hempstead, New York on January 22. The Huskies dominated the Pride, ultimately defeating Hofstra, 68-48. Junior Deja Bristol was stellar in the contest with a career-high 16 points in the win.
- FINAL STRETCH – After this weekend, the Huskies have only four games remaining in the regular season. Northeastern will host Delaware in its Think Pink Game on Friday, February 24 and then Hampton for Senior Day on February 26. The Huskies will close things out on the road at Charleston on March 2, and UNCW on March 4. The CAA tournament will be held at SECU Arena at Towson University on March 8-12.
