THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- SUPER SEVEN: Northeastern will honor the careers of Alexa Matses, Alina Mueller, Chloé Aurard, Mia Brown, Maureen Murphy, Kate Holmes and Maude Poulin-Labelle prior to the game on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. against BU. Over the past five years, the Huskies have won 141 games and the program's first two 30-win campaigns. The senior class has been involved in back-to-back Frozen Four appearances, five-straight Hockey East Championships, four Hockey East Regular Season titles and two Beanpot trophies.
- QUEENS OF THE BEANS: Northeastern defeated No. 15/RV Boston College, 2-1, to claim its record 18th title at the 44th annual Beanpot. Murphy was named the Beanpot MVP and Gwyneth Philips earned the Bertagna Award as the top goaltender. Murphy had three goals and one assist through two games, including the game-winning goal in the championship. Philips stopped 53 of 55 shots faced in the tournament, including 27 in the title game.
- BIG DAWGS GOTTA EAT: The two teams most recently met in the Beanpot Semifinal where the Huskies won 4-1. In the lone Hockey East meeting, NU won 6-0. Aurard leads all Northeastern players with six points in two games against the Terriers this season off one goal and five assists. Murphy and Mueller each have three goals apiece against BU. Brooke Disher is the lone Terrier to score against NU this season. The Terriers most recently defeated Harvard, 7-4, in the Beanpot Consolation game. Julia Nearis leads BU with 22 points and 11 goals, while Christina Vote has a team-high 14 assists. BU's Andrea Brändli started both games against NU and tallied 67 saves over two games in net.
Up next, Northeastern will host the lowest remaining seed in the Hockey East Quarterfinals at home in Matthews Arena on Saturday, Feb. 25.
