BOSTON – The Northeastern women's basketball team (15-11, 10-5 CAA) used a big 22-0 third quarter run to erase a 14-point deficit, and rally past visiting Delaware (14-12, 7-8 CAA), 70-61, on Friday night at the Cabot Center.

JaMiya Braxton paced the Huskies with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Junior
Derin Erdogan, sophomore
Gemima Motema, and junior
Deja Bristol also tallied double-digits in the contest. Erdogan had 14 points and four assists, while Motema had 14 points, four steals and a career-high eight rebounds, and Bristol added 13 points.Â

Delaware led 37-27 at the half, and extended the lead to 41-27 with 8:56 left in the third. Erdogan answered with a jumper 14 seconds later to kick-start the 22-0 run over the next 6:26. After Delaware finally scored to make it a six-point game, Braxton hit a late three to put the Huskies up 52-43 going into the final quarter. The Blue Hens turned the ball over 14 times, and Northeastern capitalized on the opportunities with 16 points off the turnovers.
- Â After a slow first quarter that saw the visitors take a 18-11 lead into the second, Delaware continued to remain ahead. A Braxton jumper, and a layup by junior Halle Idowu trimmed the deficit to 21-17 at the 6:30 mark, but the Blue Hens responded right back with a three-pointer.
- Â Delaware went on a 7-0 run to balloon its lead to 31-21 at the 4:04 mark, and remained in control of the frame. A few minutes later, a Motema jumper cut the deficit to 31-25, but Delaware tallied back-to-back threes in the final minute of the first half to take the double-digit lead into halftime.
- Delaware shot 43.8% (7-of-16) overall, and 50% (5-of-10) from three in the second.
- The Huskies came out firing in the third, and got the huge comeback started with an Erdogan jumper and a three-pointer from Braxton to trim the deficit to 41-32 at the 8:11 mark.
- Northeastern's offense kept the scoring run going, and tied the contest up at 41 after a layup by Erdogan at the 4:35 mark. Erdogan then gave Northeastern the lead back at 43-41, 12 seconds later with a fast break layup off a Delaware turnover.
- A few minutes later, a layup by Bristol increased Northeastern's lead up to 49-43 before Delaware responded back with a jumper to stop the dominating run.
- Northeastern shot 60% (9-of-15) overall, held Delaware to 20% shooting (2-of-10) and outscored the Blue Hens 25-6 in the third to take a 52-43 lead into the fourth.
- Motema ballooned Northeastern's advantage up to 11 (54-43), 20 seconds into the final frame, and the Huskies didn't look back.
- Delaware trimmed the deficit down to six twice in the frame, but layups by Bristol and Erdogan down the stretch would ultimately seal the win.
- Northeastern dominated Delaware in points off turnovers (20-10), points in the paint (34-20), and fast break points (15-5).
