HAMPTON, Va. – The Northeastern swimming and diving team had a historic week at the CAA Championships, capped off by two more school records falling and two more medals on the final night.
The Huskies finished in third with 527.5 points, the best finish in program history at the CAA Championships since joining the conference prior to the 2006 season.

Lauren Colby was named the 2023 CAA Diving Coach of the Year following the championships.
Throughout the week, the Huskies earned ten medals between three golds, two silvers and five bronze, as well as broke six school records in the process.
Anna Verlander secured the gold medal and broke her own Northeastern school record set earlier this season in the 200 back with a time of 1:55.87.
Finishing off the championships in the 400 Freestyle Relay, the group of
Grace Miller,
Jamie Koo,
Kotoko Blair, and
Kira Parker broke the Northeastern school record, finishing fourth with a time of 3:21.80.
Erin Murphy earned the bronze medal in the 3M dive with a score of 280.60, tallying an important score on her last dive to jump into the top three.
- In the first event of the night, the 1650 Freestyle, Mary Banick finished 11th and set a season-best time of 17:18.05. Miller followed behind in 12th with another season-best time of 17:23.95.
- Following Verlander in the 200 Backstroke was Devon Muldoon, finishing in fourth place at 1:59.13. Teagan Osga came in right behind in sixth place at 2:00.30.
- In the 100 Freestyle A final, Parker finished at 50.31 and tied for sixth. In the B final, Koo finished first and ninth overall with a season-best time of 50.65, while Blair came in at 51.41 in 15th.
- The B final of the 200 Breaststroke had Marcela Scaramuzza set a season best and a second-place finish (10th overall) at 2:17.82.
- Francesca Arciniegas finished at 2:05.25 and in 15th overall in the 200 Butterfly.
- In the 1M Dives, Lauren O'Sullivan finished sixth at 247.65 and Anelise Kim finished seventh at 243.30.
The Huskies diving program will be back in action at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships in Morgantown, W.V. from Mar. 6-8.
