AMESBURY, Mass.— Head coach Dave Flint and graduate student Alina Mueller of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team have been named finalists for the Hockey East Coach of the Year and Player of the Year Award, respectively, as announced Monday.
 
Mueller was the only unanimous selection as a Hockey East First Team All-Star and was also the Hockey East Scoring Champion after posting 40 points in league play. Mueller has 55 points on the season, tallying 24 goals and 31 assists, for the fourth-best mark in the country. Her nine game-winning goals are tied for the best mark in the country as is her plus-43 rating. Additionally, Northeastern is 27-0-0 this season when Mueller records a point.
 
The Winterthur, Switzerland native ended her Hockey East regular season career as the all-time career points leader with 175 points. She also set the Hockey East tournament record for most career points with 30 and counting. Mueller was named the Hockey East Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
 
Flint has guided Northeastern once again to unprecedented success on Huntington Avenue, capturing a Beanpot Title and Hockey East Regular Season Crown in 2022-23. Flint's Huskies reached 30 wins for the third time in program history this season and did so for the first time ever in the regular season. Northeastern's 24 Hockey East wins also tied the program record.
 
Under Flint's tutelage, the Huskies have allowed the fewest goals in the NCAA (30), own the second-best penalty killing unit (.915), have the top scoring defense (.88) and best scoring margin the country (3.00). Flint has been named Hockey East Coach of the Year four times in his career (2012, 2019, 2020, 2021).
 
The Huskies are back in action in the Hockey East Semifinals against the fourth-seeded Boston College Eagles on Wednesday, March 1 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
