Mueller Earns Hockey East Player of the Week Honors

AMESBURY, Mass.— Graduate student Alina Mueller of the No. 5 Northeastern women's hockey team was named the Hockey East Player of the Week after posting five points in a 5-1 quarterfinal victory over Merrimack. Mueller was named the Co-Player of the Week alongside Boston College's Katie Pyne.

Mueller posted a hat trick and two assists for a five-point outing against the Warriors. The Winterthur, Switzerland native was involved in all five Husky goals against Merrimack, including the game-winning goal. Her game-winner was her ninth of the season, which is tied for the best mark in the NCAA.

Her hat trick was just the 10th-ever Hockey East playoff hat trick and her five points tied the league record for single-game playoff scoring. Additionally, during the game Mueller tied Kendall Coyne Schofield's program record with her 249th career point and set a new Hockey East tournament record for career points with 30.

Mueller and the Huskies are back in action for the Hockey East Semifinals against Boston College on Wednesday, March 1 at 6 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
