BOSTON – With just eight games remaining in the regular season, the Northeastern men's basketball team is back in Matthews Arena for its next two contests, beginning on Saturday afternoon against Elon. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be aired on NESN and FloHoops.
Â
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. THE SERIES WITH ELON
The Huskies and Phoenix are meeting for the 18th time in series history, and first time this season. Northeastern holds an 11-6 advantage in the series and is looking to avenge an Elon sweep last season.
Jahmyl Telfort averaged 14.5 ppg in two games against the Phoenix in 2021-22.
Â
2. HE CANNOT BE CONTAINED
Junior captain
Coleman Stucke has reached double figures in nine of the 20 games he's played this season after doing so only four times all of last season, highlighted by a career-high 34 points at Delaware on Jan. 28
Â
Stucke's day marked the 34th time in team history, and first time since 2021, that a Husky scored at least 34 in a game. He finished the day 12-of-19 from the field, 6-of-13 from three and 4-of-5 from the stripe. His six threes were also the most for a Husky since 2021.
Â
3. BLOCK PARTY
Northeastern is 53rd in the nation and first in the CAA averaging 4.3 blocks per game, led by
Collin Metcalf's 16 and 13 from
Alexander Nwagha. The 90 blocks through 21 games have the Huskies on pace to record more than 100 blocks in a season for the first time since 2016-17 season.
