THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- A BEAN BREAK: The Huskies are set to take on UConn between Beanpot games this February. Northeastern defeated Boston University in the semifinals, 4-1, to advance to the Beanpot Championship against Boston College on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. This quick road trip to UConn marks Northeastern's penultimate away game of the regular season in Hockey East play.
- GWYN-YTHING IS POSSIBLE: Senior Gwyneth Philips leads the nation in goals against average (.80), save percentage (.960), wins (26) and shutouts (9). She was named to the Hockey Commissioner Association's Women's Goalie of the Year Watchlist. Philips owns a 26-2-1 record this season. The Athens, Ohio native was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for January, her third monthly honor from the league this season. Additionally, Philips was honored for the second time this season as the Hockey Commissioners Association National Goaltender of the Month for her play in January.
- THE OTHER HUSKIES: Northeastern will close out its three-game Hockey East series with Connecticut this Friday. The Huskies defeated UConn, 3-0 and 4-1 earlier this season. Camryn Wong is the only UConn player to score against NU this season. Coryn Tormala leads Connecticut with 18 points this season, while Tia Chan has played the bulk of the minutes in goal. Chan made 67 saves over two games against NU earlier this season and owns a .936 save percentage and 1.64 GAA.
