Huskies Close Out Weekend of Competition

BOSTON – The Northeastern track and field program closed out another weekend of competition at the UMass Flagship Invitational (Amherst, Mass.), the Hurricane Alumni Invite (Coral Gables, Fla.) and the Duke Invitational (Durham, N.C.)
 
Duke Invitational
Friday
  • Ava Duggan started off the night with a first-place finish in the women's 1500m with a personal-best time of 4:29.16.
  • In the men's 1500m, Tyler Brogan finished in third place with a time of 3:49.30.
  • Closing out the night, Madison Neuner finished in fifth place in the women's 3000m steeplechase at 10:23.95.   
Saturday
  • Brogan finished in the top ten again with a fifth-place finish at 1:53.16 in the men's 800m.
 
UMass Flagship Invitational
Friday Saturday
  • Four more Huskies finished in the top ten in the women's discus with Abigail Klinge leading the way in second place at 44.25m. Following was Madeleine DuChaussee (38.58m) in seventh, Claire Kuzma (38.50m) in eighth and Julietta Ambartsoumian (36.81m) in tenth.
  • Ryan Sewell finished tenth in the men's discus at 42.85m.
  • In the women's javelin throw, Dominique Biron finished seventh at 35.81m.
  • Kennedee Cox finished fourth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60m, while Emanuele Dokyi (1.88m) and John Lung (1.83m) finished sixth and ninth, respectively.
  • Dokyi also finished second in the triple jump at 14.07m.
  • Max Zuckerman enjoyed a second-place finish in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.80m. Kevin Xu followed at 4.10m in eighth, while Wisnaskas finished in ninth at 3.95m.
  • DuChaussee finished fourth in the women's shot put with a mark of 12.78m, while Biron followed in ninth at 11.78m.
  • Shannon Trevor finished seventh in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:37.38.
  • James Pothier finished fourth in the men's 1500m at 3:54.13, while Anders Narita finished seventh at 3:57.02.
  • Ariann Robinson finished fourth in the women's 400m at 57.28. On the men's side, Pierre Sylvain finished second at 49.78 and Astor Meredith-Goujon finished eighth at 52.37.
  • Ryan Dailor (1:55.40) finished fifth in the men's 800m.
  • Meredith-Goujon, Dailor, Narita and Sylvain finished fifth in the 4x400m relay to close out the day at 3:27.47.
 
Hurricane Alumni Invite
Friday
  • Graduate student Phillips Magre was the lone Husky competing on Friday night at the Hurricane Alumni Invite. He posted a mark of 1.82m in the men's high jump to finish tied for seventh place in the event.
Saturday
  • Diego Sanabria finished eighth in the men's javelin throw at 55.80m.
  • Nii Yarboi Yartey, Noah Sweeney, Ethan Exilhomme and Phillips Magre finished first in the men's 4x100m with a time of 40.34, tied for the sixth best time in Northeastern history.
  • Cory Gathier finished third in the men's 110m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.13.
  • Exilhomme recorded the second-best time in Northeastern history with a 10.40 in the men's 100m, while Noah Sweeney finished with a personal-best 10.52.
  • Anna Davis finished fourth in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.81.
  • Gathier again competed in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 51.53. The time is the third best in Northeastern history.
  • Exilhomme set a personal-best in the 200m with a time of 21.24.
 
 
The Huskies will compete again at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., starting on Wednesday.
