RICHMOND, Va.— For the first time this season,
Vivian Akyirem of the Northeastern women's soccer team was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Akyirem posted two goals and an assist as the Huskies opened CAA play with a win over UNCW and a tie against Drexel. Akyirem posted a goal and an assist for a three-point outing against the Seahawks, with her first assist of the season coming on
Lauren Ahles' game-winner.

The Kumasi, Ghana native followed up her UNCW performance with a penalty kick goal in the 2-2 draw against Drexel. Akyirem has now scored three goals in three games for the Huskies.

Akyirem and the Huskies are back in action against Campbell on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in Buies Creek, N.C.
