LOWELL, Mass. — The Northeastern field hockey team (4-2) suffered a 3-0 loss to the UMass Lowell River Hawks (4-2) Friday afternoon at Wicked Blue Field, the Huskies' first loss since Aug. 26.
- Junior goaltender Kristina Merashoff faced 18 total shots and made seven saves to slow the River Hawks' attack.
- Returning to action for the first time this season was Huskies' senior captain Caroline Sweeney, who saw 17 minutes of playing time in her first game since Nov. 4, 2022.
- The River Hawks struck twice in the first half, getting on the board just over five minutes into the contest and scoring with less than five minutes to play in the first half.
- UMass Lowell's final goal came in the fourth quarter off a corner to make it 3-0.
- Graduate student midfielder Lauren Rowe led the Huskies in shots with four and in shots on goal with two.
Following the loss, the Huskies look to bounce back with a contest at No. 15 Harvard Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m. That game can be streamed live on ESPN+.
