BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is back on the road to take on two CAA opponents, beginning with Delaware on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. The Huskies will then travel to take on Hofstra on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. Both games will stream live on FloFC.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- RECORD BREAKERS: The Huskies defeated Hampton, 10-0, in their last conference matchup, a program record for goals scored in a single-game. Maggie Cochran tied the program record with three goals in a single-game and earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week. Vivian Akyirem also tied a program record with three assists in a single-game against the Pirates.
- SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS: The Huskies will meet the 3-4-4 Delaware Blue Hens on Thursday night. The two teams last met during the 2022 season, with the Huskies earning a 3-0 win. Holland Stam posted seven saves in the shutout victory and returners Akyirem and Rose Kaefer each potted goals. Delaware has not posted a win since a 4-1 victory over Saint Francis on Aug. 31, and is 0-2-3 in conference play.
- A LOOK AT THE PRIDE: Hofstra currently sits tied atop the CAA conference standings with a 4-0-1 conference record and 13 points. This game will serve as a rematch of the 2022 CAA Championship game that the Pride won 2-1 in overtime. Hofstra enters the game on a seven-match unbeaten streak and will face William & Mary on Thursday, before taking on the Huskies.
The Huskies will return home to host Charleston on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. for their Mental Health Awareness game at Parsons Field. A fan bus will leave from Forsyth Street for the game at 5:30 p.m.
