Women’s Soccer Set To Open CAA Play

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team will open conference play when the UNCW Seahawks come to Parsons Field on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. The Huskies will then host the Drexel Dragons on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 12 p.m. for Alumni Day. Both games will stream live on FloFC.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. NON-CONFERENCE REWIND: The Huskies went 2-2-1 in non-conference play with wins over Holy Cross and Eastern Michigan and a tie against Boston University. Jessie Hunt has four assists to lead the Huskies, which is the second-best mark in the CAA and tied for the 15th-best mark nationally. Holland Stam has made four starts in goal and owns a 1.25 GAA and .737 save percentage.
  2. SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS: The Seahawks enter this matchup at 1-4 on the season, with their lone win coming over Queens. In three of their four losses, the Seahawks were shutout. The Huskies and Seahawks haven't met since the 2021, with each team recording a win, UNCW posted a regular season 2-0 victory, but NU claimed revenge with a 1-0 win in the CAA tournament.
  3. A LOOK INTO THE DRAGONS: In a rematch of the 2022 CAA Semifinal, Drexel and Northeastern will face off on Sunday. The Huskies posted a 2-0 win over the Dragons in the semifinal victory, with Vivian Akyirem scoring both goals. The Dragons are 4-2 on the season and will open their CAA slate against William & Mary on Thursday before facing Northeastern.
The Huskies will hit the road to face new CAA member Campbell on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
