Men's Soccer Hosts Charleston Saturday, Heads To Harvard Tuesday

BOSTON - The Northeastern University men's soccer team (2-1-1, 1-0-0 CAA) will return home to Parsons Field this Saturday, September 9th for a brief home stand where the Huskies will welcome in CAA foe College of Charleston (2-0-2, 1-0-0 CAA) at 6 p.m. on FloFC. Northeastern will then embark on another two-game away stretch, beginning with local rival Harvard University on Tuesday evening at Jordan Field.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. HOME COOKIN': Northeastern will play just its second home match of the 2023 season Saturday against Charleston. The Huskies were 3-2-3 at home last season.
  2. IN FORM EARLY: Through the first four games of the regular season, Northeastern's Federico Tellez and Fraser Brown find themselves ranked highly in the CAA and NCAA statistical standings. Tellez leads the conference with five assists, and is tied for the NCAA lead in that same stat. Brown is tied for the conference lead in goals with three, and total shots on goal with seven. His shot-on-goal percentage, .875, is the third-highest in the NCAA.
  3. TOP OF THE TABLE: Northeastern and Charleston come into the weekend as two of the top teams in the CAA standings after one week of play - both teams won their conference opener on September 2nd - the Huskies tallied three second-half goals to take down UNCW 3-1 on the road, and Charleston edged out Drexel 2-1 at home. The Stony Brook Seawolves also won their first conference game of the season, 3-0 over Elon, making them the third team with three points in the league standings.
After a quick trip to Cambridge, the Huskies will head back down the Atlantic seaboard for another CAA match up, this time with the William & Mary Tribe on Saturday, September 16th at 7 p.m. streaming on FloFC.
