CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Abby Jegede tallied a team-high 13 points, but the Northeastern women's basketball team (0-2) fell to the Boston College Eagles (3-0) on Monday afternoon at Conte Forum.
Boston College got off to a 2-0 advantage, but
Asha Parker responded back with a layup to knot the score up. The Eagles though, responded with an 8-0 run to pull ahead 10-2 at the 6:22 mark. Boston College tallied 18 of its points in the paint, and took a 22-8 lead into the second.
The Eagles continued to push the pace in the second, tallying a quick three to extend the advantage to 25-8. Jegede tallied a three to trim the deficit at the 5:32 mark, but Boston College responded right back with a layup. Jegede paced NU with six points in the frame, but the Eagles had a 47-20 advantage at halftime.
In the third, Boston College tallied back-to-back layups to take a 51-20 lead. A three-point play by Jegede cut into the advantage, but the Eagles responded back. Boston College shot 64.3% (9-of-14), and took a 38-point lead into the final frame.
Boston College outscored NU 22-14 in the fourth to put the game out of reach for good.
