BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team is back in Matthews Arena on Wednesday night when the Huskies host Harvard. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be aired on NESN and FloCollege.
Â
FOUR THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. SERIES HISTORY VS. HARVARD
Northeastern and Harvard are meeting for the 61st time in series history, with the Crimson leading 42-18. Harvard has won three meetings with the Huskies in search of their first victory since 2019.
Â
2. KING ME
Rashad King became one of Northeastern's most reliable assets in 2023-24, averaging 8.3 points per game, up from his 3.0 ppg average as a freshman. King reached double figures 10 times last season and led the team with 80 assists, including a career-high 11 dimes in the CAA Tournament vs. Stony Brook.
Â
King's gotten off to a similar start this season with 17 assists in two games, including 13 against Princeton on Sunday. That is tied for the sixth most in single-game history and the most for a Husky since David Walker vs. Hofstra on Jan. 21, 2016.
Â
He is currently 14th in the country averaging 8.5 assists per game.
Â
3. OUT OF THE WOODS
Harold Woods proved to be a key contributor last season and is Northeastern's leading returning scorer after averaging 10.1 points per game as a sophomore in 2023-24. Woods upped his production by nearly eight ppg compared to his rookie campaign, while his FG% increased by 22%.
Â
Woods' impact has been felt early this season, averaging 22 points and 11 rebounds per game, highlighted by a career-high 27-point, 13-rebound effort vs. Princeton on Sunday in his first collegiate double-double. Wood was 13-of-18 on the day, the most made field goals in a game since Tyson Walker vs. Towson on Feb. 13, 2021.
Â
Woods is currently 22nd in the NCAA in rebounds per game, and third in the country in defensive rebounds per game (10.0).
