NU Gets Set For BC Series

BOSTON, Mass. — The Huskies are set for their fourth Hockey East weekend of the season. On deck is the No. 3 Boston College Eagles. Northeastern will travel to Chestnut Hill on Friday night (Nov. 22) before hosting a Saturday night tilt (Nov. 23).

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. BLUELINE JUNIORS: Assistant captains, Vinny Borgesi and Jackson Dorrington, have continued to lead the way for the Northeastern defensive core this season. Borgesi currently leads all Husky bluelines in goals (1), assists (7), points (8) and blocks (19). Dorrington's 16 blocks and two assists rank second among all NU defenseman, while he leads with 23 shots on goal. Among all Hockey East skaters, the junior defensive duo ranks high among all skaters in blocked shots. Borgesi sits second in the league with 16 blocks, while Dorrington is tied for tenth with ten blocks.
  2. A WEEKEND OF FIRSTS: In the Huskies previous weekend series against the New Hampshire Wildcats, three Huskies saw their firsts in various categories. NU's first goal of the weekend was scored by graduate student Jake Higgins for his first tally in the Northeastern sweater. With the assists on Higgins' goal, sophomore Andy Moore collected his first point of the season with the primary. Freshman Ben Poitras was credited with the secondary helper for his first collegiate point. Poitras would also record an assist in game two of the series for two points in as many games.
  3. WHERE THERE'S A WILLIAMS, THERE'S A WAY: Captain Jack Williams continues to lead the Northeastern squad in scoring with ten points from four goals and six assists, including two power-play tallies. Nationally, Williams ranks third with a 59.1 faceoff percentage (among those who have taken the same or more attempts) while being tied for 11th with 130 faceoff wins.
