BOSTON – Off to its best start in nearly 40 years, the Northeastern men's basketball team will look to close out the first half on a high note when the Huskies travel to UMass on Wednesday. Tip-off at the Mullins Center is set for 7 p.m. on NESN and ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
Â
1. SERIES HISTORY VS. MASSACHUSETTS
Northeastern and Massachusetts are meeting for the 60th time in series history, and first time since 2021. The Minutemen lead the all-time series, 39-20, with the Huskies picking up wins in each of the last two meetings.
Â
UMass head coach Frank Martin was an assistant coach at Northeastern from 2000 to 2004, helping the Huskies become one of the top teams in America East.
Â
2. SHARPSHOOTERS
Northeastern's 48% field goal percentage is 62nd in the nation and leads the CAA. The Huskies have shot 50% or better six times already this season, going 5-1 in those games. In 32 games last season, Northeastern shot 50% or better 10 times.
Â
Northeastern has also scored 50+ points in a half three times this season.Â
Â
On the other side, Northeastern has yet to allow an opponent to shoot 50% or better in a game this season, and has held opponents to below 40% four times. Huskies opponents are shooting 41.5% overall (fifth in the CAA) and 34% from three point range.
Â
3. PLAYING WITH THE LEAD
The Huskies are a perfect 5-0 this season when leading at halftime, and have never trailed in a game twice this season (vs. Harvard and vs. La Salle). Northeastern is also 4-2 in games decided by five points or fewer. In the past two seasons combined, the Huskies went 7-17 in that scenario.
