Northeastern Returns Home To Open CAA Play Vs. Delaware And Hofstra

BOSTON – After recording their most non-conference victories since 2015-16, the Northeastern men's basketball team kicks off CAA play this week with a pair of home games at Matthews Arena, beginning on Thursday against Delaware (7 p.m.). The Huskies will then take on Hofstra on Saturday at 12 p.m. Both games this week will stream on FloCollege.
 
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
 
1. SERIES HISTORY VS. THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS
Delaware leads the all-time series against Northeastern, 36-29. Each of the last four meetings between the two teams have been decided by six points or fewer, including a 59-58 Huskies victory in January 2023.
 
Hofstra, meanwhile, holds a 31-26 edge in the all-time series with Northeastern. The teams split the season series in 2024, including a 71-68 Northeastern victory at Matthews Arena.
 
2. HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN
Northeastern is back in Matthews Arena for the first time in nearly a month, where the Huskies went 3-1 during non-conference action.
 
The Huskies are outscoring their opponents by nine points per game at home and shooting 53% from the floor (37% from three). Three players are averaging double figures at home this season, led by Harold Woods' 17.3 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.
 
3. FINDING HIS RHYTHM
LA Pratt, who transferred to Northeastern from Elon in the offseason, made an immediate impact at Boston Univ., going for a career-high 24 points on 9-of-13 overall and 4-of-8 from deep.
 
Pratt has started all 13 games this season and one of four players averaging double figures. In the last three games, he is averaging 17.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, 3.3 assists per game and shooting 56% from the field.
 
4. CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR WITH THE HUSKIES
For both games this week, fans who present a valid high school or college ID at the main entrance to Matthews Arena will receive two complimentary tickets to the game.
 
5. PARKING FOR HOME GAMES AT MATTHEWS ARENA
Fans attending Athletic events at Matthews Arena are able to park in the Columbus Avenue Garage during the event free of charge.  The garage is open to fans two (2) hours prior to game time. From Columbus Garage fans can access Matthews Arena by taking the footbridge over the MBTA tracks via Camden Street. Fans that park in Columbus Garage are asked to exit the garage no later than one (1) hour following the conclusion of the game.

Metered parking is also available on streets around the arena.
