BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team was edged by the New Hampshire Wildcats on Friday night, 5-3, at Matthews Arena.
- The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead through the first 14 minutes of action to start the game.
- With his seventh goal of the season, junior Cam Lund cut UNH's lead to one goal before the first period closed out. At the blueline, defensemen Joaquim Lemay and Jake Boltmann created space for Lund to sneak his way in front of the crease for the tally.
- In the second period, UNH extended their lead to 4-1, scoring the only two goals of the frame.
- The Huskies would bring the game back to a two-goal game early in the third period. NU winning the faceoff led to a defensive connection between Boltmann and junior Vinny Borgesi near the blueline. Borgesi's shot from the right point trickled loose in front of the net for a pickup by senior Cristophe Tellier to give NU their second of the night.
- Northeastern made it a one-goal game with just over eight minutes left in the game. Flying up the ice, Lund feed sophomore Dylan Hryckowian for a shot that deflected out to the slot. Junior Jack Williams collected the puck for a shot of his own where Hryckowian found himself in perfect position on the rebound for his seventh of the season.
- To take an 5-3 advantage, New Hampshire converted once again with 7:55 left.
Northeastern returns to home ice for the last time of 2024 as they host non-conference opponent, Brown University.
