Northeastern Set To Host Charleston, Travel To Hofstra This Weekend

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team will look to make it three wins in a row when the Huskies host defending CAA Champion College of Charleston on Thursday night at Matthews Arena (7 p.m.). NU will then head to Hofstra for a 2 p.m. tip-off against the Pride on Saturday afternoon. Both games this weekend will be streamed on FloHoops, while Thursday's game will also air on NESN+.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
 
1. JOIN US AT THURSDAY'S BLACK HISTORY MONTH GAME AT MATTHEWS ARENA!
In partnership with the John D. O'Bryant African American Institute, the Northeastern Black Student Association and the Northeastern University Black Athlete Caucus, the Huskies are proud to host its Black History Month Game on Thursday night at Matthews Arena.
 
Free food will be available for students in attendance, courtesy of Flames, while supplies last.
 
2. SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS
The Huskies and Cougars will meet for the 23rd time in program history, with the series dead even at 11-11.  The Cougars have won each of the past four meetings after NU won the previous five, dating back to 2019. 
 
Saturday's matchup at Hofstra will be the second meeting between the teams this season. Northeastern earned a 71-68 victory at Matthews in January led by 19 points from Luka Sakota.
 
3. FROM DISTANCE
Northeastern hit a season-high 14 three-point field goals on Feb. 8 at Campbell, the most made threes in a game in more than three years (Jan. 9, 2021 vs. Hofstra.
 
Jared Turner leads the team with 51 made threes this season, and the Huskies have hit at least one three point field goal in 320 consecutive games dating back to Dec. 13, 2015. As a team, Northeastern has made at least 10 threes in a game three times this season.
