BOSTON – Deja Bristol tallied her fourth double-double of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Elon Phoenix (9-16, 5-7 CAA) used a big second half to take down the Northeastern women's basketball team (8-14, 4-8 CAA) on Friday evening at the Cabot Center.
 
Bristol finished the night with a team-high 11 points and 11 rebounds, and tallied eight of her points in the first half. Derin Erdogan also chipped in for the Huskies with eight points and four assists.
 
As a team, Northeastern struggled offensively in the contest, shooting 26.9% overall, and 20.8% from three.
 
Elon shot 36.2% overall, but edged Northeastern in points off turnovers (18-5), paint points (22-14), second chance points (14-6), and bench points (24-4). The Phoenix were led by Ruby Willard with a game-high 15 points.
 
Northeastern got off to a fast start, leading off the game with seven straight points, capped off by an Erdogan three and layup by Bristol. Both teams traded 7-0 runs in the frame, but an Erdogan three with 31 seconds to go gave the Huskies a 16-12 advantage heading into the second.
 
A three by Yirsy Queliz gave Northeastern a 19-14 lead at the 8:39 mark of the second, but Elon responded with five straight points to tie the score up. Both teams went back and forth, but Willard took over for the Phoenix in the frame, tallying nine of her points to propel the visitors to a 30-28 lead at halftime.
 
The Phoenix outscored the Huskies 23-9 in the second half, 12 of which came off the bench to put the game out of reach for good.
