Huskies Close Out Home Slate Vs. Elon, Hampton This Weekend

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team will look to make some headway in the league standings this weekend when the Huskies host their final two home games of the season, beginning on Thursday night against Elon (7pm). Northeastern will then take on Hampton for Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at 12pm. Both games at Matthews Arena will air on NESN+ and stream on FloHoops.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

1. CRUNCH TIME

With just four games remaining in the regular season, the Huskies are currently in a three-way tie for 10th in the league standings with Elon and North Carolina A&T and just two games out of eighth as the teams jockey for seeding in March's conference tournament.

2. SERIES HISTORY AGAINST THIS WEEKEND'S OPPONENTS
Northeastern owns a 12-7 edge in the all-time series with Elon as the teams prepare to meet for the second time this season. In the first meeting in mid-January, Rashad King (22) and Harold Woods (20) combined for 42 points as the Huskies led by as many as 25 before knocking off the Phoenix, 84-72, to give head coach Bill Coen the CAA all-time wins record.

Saturday's matchup with Hampton, meanwhile, is just the second between the two schools. Last season, the Huskies shot 58% overall as a team and 44% from deep to earn a 79-63 victory over the Pirates on the road.

3. GUESS WHO'S BACK
After missing three games with an injury, Luka Sakota has returned in a big way. In the last four games, Sakota is averaging 18.8 points per game, shooting 52% from the floor and 52% from three along with an 11-of-13 mark from the line.
