BOSTON — Seniors
Ava Duggan and
Azza Borovicka-Swanson both broke school and CAA records as the Northeastern track and field team concluded a successful day at the Scarlet & White Invitational Saturday.
Duggan ran the mile in 4:38.87 and was the fourth collegiate finisher, while Borovicka-Swanson ran the 3000m in 9:27.20 to break the school record.
- Sophomore Ariann Robinson and senior Dominique Biron ran a quick 400m, with Robinson crossing the line at 55.62 seconds (fourth all-time at NU) and Biron following up with a 56.15 time (seventh all-time at NU).
- Biron also qualified for the 60mH finals, where she ran an 8.92.
- Freshman Victoria Knight ran a time of 7.72 seconds to qualify for the finals in the 60m dash and placed seventh in the event with a 7.76 time.
- Graduate student Elizabeth McMahon made the 200m top ten list at no. 9, finishing the race in 24.63 seconds.
- Junior Benjamin Godish used a late push to win his heat of the mile, finishing sub-four minutes at 3:58.64, second all-time at Northeastern and recording the best time in the CAA this season.
- Godish was followed by sophomore Patrick Cantlon, who ran a 4:00.36 and moved into fifth on the All-Time Indoor Performance List.
- Madeleine Duchaussee had the best shot put of the day for Northeastern, hoisting it 12.09m.
- Kevin Xu finished eighth in the pole vault, clearing a bar of 4.40m.
- Jordan Spencer was the Huskies' leader in the triple jump, hitting the sand at 13.64m.
The Huskies will compete again next weekend, going at the Valentine Invitational Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10 at the BU Track & Tennis Center, and also taking part in the URI Coaches' Invite Saturday, Feb. 10 at Mackal Field House.
