PHILADELPHIA – The Northeastern men's basketball team (12-19, 7-11) trimmed a 16-point deficit all the way to two midway through the second half, but a 13-0 run down the stretch sent the Dragons (20-11, 13-5) to a 73-59 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Northeastern concludes the regular season at 7-11 in league play, and will be the No. 10 seed in next week's Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship. The Huskies will take on No. 7 seed Stony Brook on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. All-session and single-session tickets are available by

Chris Doherty led the Huskies with 18 points on 8-of-18 shooting and four rebounds to lead three Huskies in double figures. He was joined by
Masai Troutman (13 points, team-high six rebounds) and
Harold Woods (10 points on 5-of-8) for a Northeastern squad that finished the day 26-of-56 overall.
Drexel, meanwhile, was paced by Luke House's 23 points on 8-of-14 from the field and 5-of-8 from deep. Lucas Monroe added 18 on 9-of-10 as the Dragons shot 53% overall and 50% from long range.
Drexel came out flying in the first half, hitting seven of its first 11 shots and leading by as many as 15 before taking a 40-27 lead into the break. The Dragons opened the game on a 15-2 run, capped by a dunk from House, two of his 16 first half points.
The Huskies would answer, though, going on a 9-0 run in less than three minutes to climb back in it before a 9-2 Drexel run midway through the half put the hosts back up by double digits. Northeastern shot 46% as a team in the first, with Woods going for 10 on 5-of-7 from the floor.
Northeastern started to chip away at the lead coming out of halftime, going on a 13-0 run to get it to 47-44 Dragons midway through the second half before a three from Doherty made it a two-point game with nine minutes to go.
That's as close as the Huskies would get, however, as a 13-0 Drexel run over the next 2:30 put the Dragons back up by double digits and put the game out of reach.
