BOSTON— Six Huskies representing three different countries are set to compete at the 2024 IIHF Women's World Championship from April 3-14 in Utica, New York.
Fifth year
Gwyneth Philips alongside alums Aerin Frankel, Hayley Scamurra and Kendall Coyne Schofield will represent the U.S. Women's National Team. Additionally, alums Denisa Krizova and
Alina Mueller will represent Czechia and Switzerland, respectively. Assistant coach
Melissa Piacentini will also serve as a video coach for the U.S. Women's National Team.
The American quartet will look to defend their title after capturing gold in 2023. This marks Philips first appearance on a World Championship roster. The U.S. will take on Switzerland on Wednesday, April 3 to open Worlds.
Krizova helped Czechia win a second-straight bronze medal in 2023. Czechia will play Finland on Wednesday, April 3 in its first game at Worlds.
An assistant captain with the Swiss team, Mueller is set to compete in her eighth World Championships. Mueller and Switzerland will take on the U.S. on Wednesday, April 3 for their first game.
