NEWARK, Del. – In game one of their three-game weekend series, the Northeastern Huskies (26-7, 8-2 CAA) defeated the Delaware Blue Hens (17-15, 5-5 CAA) by a score of 12-8 on Friday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium.
The game saw a total of 27 hits and six home runs - the Huskies belted four of those home runs off the bats of

Jack Doyle and
Jack Goodman, to take game one from the Blue Hens. Bozzo and Doyle each tallied 3 RBIs in the contest, while Goodman and
Tyler MacGregor each chipped in with two.
- After a scoreless first inning, Northeastern got on the board first with a solo home run by Gregory Bozzo to left field to lead 1-0.
- The Blue Hens responded in the bottom of the third as a runner on third was able to advance home on a balk.
- Carmelo Musacchia led off the top of the fourth inning with a single and a steal of second to jump start the Northeastern offense.
- Musacchia was scored on an RBI single from Bozzo, ripping a double down the right field line. Bozzo would then score on Harrison Feinberg's RBI single to shallow center for the 3-1 lead.
- After Feinberg took third on a wild pitch, he was scored by Tyler MacGregor on a sacrifice fly to lead 4-1.
- After a solo home run for Delaware in the bottom of the fourth, Jack Goodman answered with a solo shot of his own in the top of the fifth to make it 5-2.
- Delaware retook the lead, 6-5 in the fifth with a grand slam.
- Back-to-back doubles in the sixth inning from Feinberg and MacGregor tied the game back up at 6-6. A scoreless bottom of the sixth from Will Jones kept the game tied going into the seventh inning. Jones would go on to earn the win as the Huskies retook the lead for good in the seventh.
- The Huskies hit a pair of homers in the top of the seventh back-to-back, a two-run shot from Jack Doyle and a solo shot for Bozzo, both to left field, to take a 9-6 lead.
- In the bottom of the seventh it was Cooper McGrath coming in to pitch to start the inning, and after finding himself in a bases-loaded situation, got back-to-back strikeouts to shut down the Blue Hens and keep the lead.
- It was another crooked number for the Huskies in the eighth, after loading the bases and scoring runs on a wild pitch and RBI doubles by Jack Goodman and Jack Doyle to lead 12-6.
- The Blue Hens brought in two runs, one earned, in the bottom of the ninth but Charlie Walker got a strike out and ground out to himself to end the game.
- It was the first multi-HR game for Bozzo, who is up to seven homers on the year, which is now the second-most on the team.
- The Huskies are now 13-0, 5-0 in conference, when tallying 10 or more runs in a game.
