Northeastern Finishes Day One Of Sean Collier Invitational, Virginia Challenge And Ends Wake Forest Invite

BOSTON — Two All-Time Top Ten times at the Wake Forest Invitational highlighted the Northeastern track & field team's Friday night that included performances at the Virginia Challenge and the MIT Sean Collier Invitational along with Wake Forest.
 
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
  • Junior javelin thrower Diego Sanabria was the lone competitor for the Huskies at the Virginia Challenge, throwing his javelin 57.46m. 
WAKE FOREST INVITATIONAL
  • In the women's 800m, junior Nicole Dunbury finished 21st with a time of 2:11.85.
  • Senior Tyler Brogan finished the 1500m with a time of 3:48.34, a season best.
  • Graduate student Kerem Ayhan improved his third all-time mark in the 800m with a time of 1:47.59 while junior Reed Cherry posted a 1:48.85 to move up to fourth all-time in the event.
  • Junior Benjamin Godish ran a 3:43.79 in the 1500m, just .19 seconds off his personal best.
  • Senior Patrick Cullen was the last Husky to race, finishing the 5000m in 15:02.66.
MIT SEAN COLLIER INVITATIONAL
  • Senior James Pothier crossed the line in the 1500m at 3:50.31 and was followed by classmate Anders Narita finished 3:52.67 to take sixth and seventh places, respectively.
  • Fifth year Sarah Petersen finished fourth in the 1500m posting a time of 4:35.08 in the event.
  • In the 5000m, senior Malav Mehta came out on top after recording a personal-best time of 14:22.83.
  • On the women's side, junior Vivian McMahon moved into the Huskies' All-Time Top Ten at number 8 with her time of 17:01.33, finishing eighth in the event.
  • Freshman Ryan Sarney ran the 10000m in 30:45.41 to finish seventh.
The Huskies are back on Saturday with an extended day at the Sean Collier Invitational and two throwers at the Virginia Challenge.
