BOSTON – Northeastern men's basketball coach
Bill Coen announced the addition of four student-athletes to his 2024-25 roster on Wednesday. The group of three transfers and one freshman includes
Youri Fritz (Canisius),
LA Pratt (Elon),
Sam Thomson (Colgate) and rookie
Ryan Williams (Malvern Prep).

Fritz, who will be a junior for Northeastern in 2024-25, played two seasons at Canisius. He was one of four players to appear in all 32 games last season, including 23 starts, averaging 5.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 20.8 minutes. He reached double-figures four times, highlighted by his career-high 12 points against Wofford Nov. 24. Fritz shot 56.8 percent (63-for-111) from the field last season, and was also named to the 2023-24 MAAC All-Academic Team. In addition, Fritz represented the Netherlands in the 2023 FIBA U20 European Division B Championship.

Pratt played his first two collegiate seasons at Elon before transferring to Northeastern for the start of his junior year. Pratt played in all 64 games for the Phoenix, including seven starts as a sophomore last season. In 2023-24, he averaged 6.9 points per game with 2.9 rebounds in 22.1 minutes while finishing fourth on the team with 67 assists. Pratt reached double figures seven times, including three career nights with 16 points. During his prep career, he scored more than 1000 points at Lincoln Park while helping guide the program to two WPIAL Championship appearances and two State Semifinal appearances.

Thomson joins Northeastern from Colgate as a graduate transfer, where he played 115 games over four seasons for the Raiders. As a senior in 2023-24, he played in 33 games averaging a career-best 4.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He posted four double-digit scoring performances and led the team in rebounding three times, highlighted by a season-high 11 points in final game of his Colgate career against Baylor in NCAA tournament. Before Colgate, Thomson garnered back-to-back Independent School League (ISL) First Team honors after leading Brooks School to a pair of championships in 2019 and 2020.Â

The lone freshman in this year's class, Williams joins the Huskies after an outstanding career at Malvern Prep. A First Team All-Inter-Ac and All-Main Line basketball selection several times during his high school career, Williams averaged better than 20 points as a senior in 2023-24. Williams scored his 1000th career point during his senior season, becoming just the 17th player in Malvern history to accomplish the feat.Â
