Huskies Head West For Two Games

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is set to travel to California for two games beginning on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. EST against San Francisco. The Huskies will then travel down to face San Jose State on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. EST.

Thursday's game will stream on ESPN+ and Sunday's match will be available to stream on the Mountain West Network.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME OUT: The Huskies opened their 2024 slate with a 1-1 tie against Boston University. After going down 1-0 in the first half, NU rallied with a second half tally from Jessie Hunt to even the score. Eliza Teplow made a career-high five saves in goal.
  2. HEADED WEST: Northeastern is headed to The Golden State for the first time since 2018 when the Huskies faced Long Beach State and Loyola Marymount. NU will be looking for its first win in California since defeating San Jose State, 5-3, in 2001. Jayden Newkirk and Leilani Reed will both be returning to their home state when the Huskies play in California.
  3. SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION: Northeastern and San Francisco are meeting for the second time in program history on Thursday. The Dons sit at 1-1 on the season, narrowly losing to No. 2 Stanford, 1-0, and defeating UC San Diego, 3-0. The Huskies and Spartans are meeting for the third time on Sunday and have a split series at 1-1 entering the game. Northeastern defeated SJSU in 2001, while the Spartans won 1-0 last year at Parsons Field. The Spartans will be looking for their first win of the season against the Huskies.
Up next, Northeastern will face Harvard in its home opener at Parsons Field on Monday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be available on NESN+ and FloFC.
