Women’s Soccer Travels To Towson, Hosts Monmouth

BOSTON— The Northeastern women's soccer team is prepped for two more conference games, beginning with its first road CAA contest on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. against Towson. The Huskies will then return home to host Monmouth on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. Both games will stream live on FloFC.
 
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. LAST TIME OUT: Northeastern opened CAA play with a narrow 2-1 loss to Elon. Ava Nace scored her first goal of the season, while Jessie Hunt and Faith Rosenblatt notched assists on the goal. Sophie Theresia Augustin made her first start in goal for the Huskies and posted two saves.
  2. TAKE A LOOK AT THE TIGERS: The reigning CAA Champions, Towson sits at 2-3-5 on the season and most recently fell 1-0 to Drexel. Northeastern owns a 13-8-3 record against the Tigers, with the Huskies winning the last meeting in 2023, 1-0. Preseason All-CAA goalkeeper, Riley Melendez leads all CAA keepers averaging 5.10 saves per game. Sophie Thibeault leads the Tigers with four goals.
  3. HOSTING THE HAWKS: Monmouth was picked to win the CAA and owns a 4-1-4 record. The Hawks tied Drexel 2-2 to open their CAA slate and will play William & Mary on Thursday before facing the Huskies. Northeastern owns an all-time record of 1-1-0 against Monmouth and earned its first win against the Hawks in 2023, with Jessie Hunt scoring the game-winning goal.
Northeastern will next hit the road for two games beginning with a trip to Charleston on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
