BOSTON – The Northeastern University men's soccer team (0-1-2, 0-0-0 CAA) wraps up a four-game home stand this Saturday and Tuesday, September 7
th and 10
th, hosting CAA foe Campbell (3-0-1, 0-0-0 CAA) on Saturday, followed by Merrimack (1-3-0) on Tuesday. Saturday's game kicks off at 1 p.m. on FloFC and NESN+, while Tuesday's game begins at 6 p.m. on FloFC.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
- The Huskies began the home schedule with an 0-0-2 record after a 1-1 tie with Boston University and a scoreless draw with Siena. Goalkeeper Tobias Jahn made 13 saves across the two games, including a five-save shutout against Siena. NU's goal to tie up the game with BU came from Fraser Brown, converting from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
- FIGHTING CAMELS
- In the first weekend of conference play, Northeastern faces Campbell for just the second time in program history after the Camels joined the CAA last season – Campbell scored a late game-winner in last year's meeting between the two teams in Buies Creek, N.C. to claim a 1-0 victory in the series opener. The Camels have had a strong start to their non-conference schedule, coming into the weekend undefeated with wins over Radford, NC Wesleyan, and Old Dominion, before playing to a scoreless tie against Davidson on the road this past Monday.
- SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
- The Huskies return to non-conference action next Tuesday evening against local rival Merrimack – the Warriors enter the weekend with a 1-3-0 record after a 0-1 loss to Bryant University on Thursday night. NU trails the all-time series 4-6-1 against Merrimack, but the Huskies have won the last two meetings between the two programs, winning away in 2021 (2-1) and last October (3-1). It'll be the first meeting between the two programs at Parsons Field since 2019.
After the pair of home games, the Huskies play just their second road game of the 2024 season next Saturday, September 14
th at Drexel for the second CAA weekend. That game is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will stream on FloFC.
