NU Swim And Dive Returns For Tate Ramsden Invitational

BOSTON — After a month away from the pool, the Northeastern women's swimming and diving team (3-2) returns to action at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, hosted by Dartmouth, from January 17-18 at the Karl and Michael Spaulding Pools.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. NEW YEAR, SAME GOAL — The Huskies roll into the new year with the same ambitions from the start of the season. Despite falling to New Hampshire in their final meet of 2024, the team has impressed the eyes of many, including wins over Vermont and Rhode Island, a 151-149 comeback win over UConn, and a second-straight team win at the Terrier Invitational. This season has also seen major individual accomplishments, including senior Erin Murphy qualifying for the NCAA Zone Qualifiers and graduate student Emily Gjertsen setting a new record in the 1650 Free.
  2. TATE RAMSDEN REWIND — Northeastern earned victories over Dartmouth and UMass in last year's invitational, winning seven overall events. Sophomore May Bradburn earned multiple first-place finishes, including a new pool record in the 100 Fly with a time of 54.68. Senior Hannah Seward also broke a meet record in the 200 IM, while the Northeastern relay teams won three relay events, setting two meet records and one pool record in the process.
  3. A ROY-AL RECEPTION — Not only is this another year for the Huskies to compete at the Tate Ramsden Invitational, but a reunion for Northeastern head coach Roy Coates. The Medford, Mass. native spent seven years as an assistant and head coach of Dartmouth's men's swimming team before joining Northeastern.
Following the two-day meet, the Huskies look towards their Senior Day meet against Stony Brook on Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m. in Barletta Natatorium. The event will be available to stream on FloCollege.
