BOSTON— The No. 14/12 Northeastern women's hockey team is ready for a weekend of Hockey East games beginning at home with Vermont on Friday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. The Huskies will then travel to face No. 15 Connecticut on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. Both games can be watched on ESPN+ and the international stream.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- THERE'S [MARIA]NO STOPPING HER: Senior Tory Mariano leads all Husky defensemen with 14 points, tied for the third-best mark in Hockey East. Mariano's 14 points are one off her previous career total of 15 points headed into this year. Her 12 assists and 14 points mark career-highs while her two goals ties a career-high. She is on a four-game point streak where she has posted one goal and six assists for seven points. The Buffalo, N.Y. native is second among all Hockey East players with 50 blocks.
- WHAT'S A CATAMOUNT?: Northeastern will face Vermont for the first game of a three-game Hockey East series on Friday in Matthews Arena. The Huskies are looking for their first win over UVM in Matthews Arena since a 5-1 victory on Dec. 3, 2022. The Catamounts will be playing their seventh game in a row against a ranked opponent when they come to Matthews Arena. They've posted a 1-5-0 record in those seven games but have lost by one goal in four of those games. Â Lara Beecher is UVM's leading scorer with 12 points off four goals and eight assists. Evelyne Blaise-Savoie has a team-high five goals. Â In goal, Jane Gervais has seen the bulk of the minutes for the Catamounts. The Wisconsin graduate transfer owns a 2.59 goals against average and .910 save percentage.
- THE OTHER HUSKIES: The Huskies will be going for the Hockey East series sweep against UConn on Saturday, after defeating Connecticut 1-0 twice earlier this season. Freshman netminder Lisa Jönsson posted the first two shutouts of her career against UConn. Connecitcut will host Merrimack on Friday before facing NU and enters that game on a 10-game unbeaten streak. Claire Murdoch leads UConn and is tied to lead all Hockey East rookies with freshman Élöise Caron with 20 points. Tia Chan and Megan Warrener have split time in goal this season, but Chan started both games against NU and made 54 saves over two games.
Northeastern will next host Boston University on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena.
