BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Due to late scoring in both halves, the Northeastern men's soccer team (2-6-3, 1-3-1 CAA) and the Monmouth Hawks (5-4-4, 1-2-2 CAA) tied 1-1 at Parsons Field on Saturday afternoon.
- The Huskies and the Hawks played a very physical 90 minute contest with the excitement of the first half occurring with 32.2 seconds left. Freshman Asiah Carroll found the back of the net off a header to give NU a 1-0 lead, marking his first career goal.
- During the second half, the two teams increased their shot percentage. The Hawks found an attempt on net nine times, while the Huskies had eleven.
- In another late half fashion, the Hawks clinched the 1-1 tie with 21 seconds left as Jakob Friedman notched the goal with a left-footed strike.
- Northeastern finished with 19 shots and goalkeeper Tobias Jahn finished with eights saves.
Northeastern travels to Boston University on Tuesday, Oct 14 for the team's second to last non-conference match. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
