Hamden, Conn. – The Northeastern field hockey team (7-6) earned a 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac (9-6) in Connecticut.
Camille Armaganian recorded her first multi-point game,
Alex Mega tallied a goal and two assists, and goalkeeper
Ibby Welldon made her first career start, playing the full match.
- Sophomore Camille Armaganian opened the scoring for the Huskies, converting a penalty corner with a well-placed shot. The goal was set up by assists from junior Alex Mega and freshman Jessica Garden.
- The Bobcats responded quickly with a goal of their own, as Cameron Brower capitalized on a setup from Francisca Eschoyez to level the score.
- In the second quarter, Armaganian struck again, netting her second goal of the game—once again off a penalty corner. Alex Mega recorded her second assist of the day, while Ashley Pappas also contributed on the play.
- In the second half of play, Alex Mega tallied a goal to add to her two assists. The third goal of the game coming from a corner, was assisted by Ashley Pappas and Lucy Walton.
- About five minutes later, Quinnipiac answered with a goal. Cameron Brower scored her second goal of the game, assisted again by Francisca Eschoyez.
- In the last minute of the game, the Bobcats received a penalty corner. The corner was shut down by the Huskies, with Anna-Kate Domingue making a crucial defensive save.
- Freshman Ibby Welldon played her first 60-minute collegiate game. Welldon made four saves during the Huskies win.
The Huskies play their last two home games next weekend starting with Drexel on Friday, Oct 24 at 3 p.m. and Boston University on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 12 p.m. for Senior Day.
