Yirsy Quéliz Recognized With CAA Preseason Honors At Conference Media Day

BOSTON -- Junior guard Yirsy Quéliz of the Northeastern women's basketball team was named All-CAA Preseason Honorable Mention at the conference's annual Media Day Thursday afternoon. 

Quéliz, the Huskies returning starting point guard, played in 26 games during her sophomore year campaign. The Dominican Republic native scored a season-high 20 points in 40 minutes of action on Feb. 14 against N.C. A&T and averaged 11.7 points per game alongside 3.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds. Quéliz shot at a .303 clip from behind the arch in the 2024-25 season, going 47-155 attempts. 
 
In league play, Quéliz averaged 12.0 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, and assists per game. She led the Huskies with 21 steals against conference opponents. 
 
Quéliz and the Huskies kick off the 2025-26 season on Monday, November 3 against LIU Brooklyn (4 p.m.) on Solomon Court in the Cabot Center.
