CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Northeastern women's swimming and diving team split the Friday, Oct. 24 local tri-meet, taking a 161-136 win over MIT while dropping to Harvard 223-75. Freshman Alex Fuller, juniors Mary Nordmann and May Bradburn, and Senior Kotoko Blair contributed to the Huskies' performance by taking first place against both Harvard and MIT in the women's 200 Free Relay.
- Freshman Kailyn Aquino earned Northeastern's top spots in both the 1M and 3M dives, placing 6th in the 1M with 237.75 points and 9th in the 3M with 229.85 points.
- In the 200 medley relay, freshman Alex Fuller, sophomore Delaney Alonso, junior May Bradburn, and graduate student Elisabeth Bendall inched out the podium spot over MIT with a time of 1:44.25
- In the 1000 free, freshman Abigail Gowern took third, touching the wall at 10:29.74.
- Junior Mary Nordmann captured second place in the 50 free with a time of 23.78.
- In the crowded 18-competitor 100 free, freshman Alex Fuller battled for a second place finish, missing first by a close 0.24.
- Continuing the strong showing by freshmen swimmers, Sophie Bromley took the third place spot in the 200 back, while sophomore Delaney Alonso and senior Teagan Osga captured fourth and fifth place, respectively.
- Freshman Alex Fuller earned another podium spot with a second place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.03.
The women will take to the road for a Husky vs. Husky match up in Storrs, Conn against UConn on Saturday, Nov. 8 at noon.
