Huskies Gear Up For Clash With Army

BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team hosts Army West Point this Friday, Oct. 10 for their annual Skating Strides game with puck drop slated for 7 p.m.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. RENEWING A STORIED SERIES: The two programs have met 24 times in program history with Northeastern outscoring Army, 97-91. The Huskies have also won seven of their ten meetings on home ice with the Black Knights. The first matchup between the two was Feb. 24, 1951, where NU was victorious at Matthews Arena, 11-2, and their most recent meeting was a road win for the Huskies, 5-1, on Nov. 28, 1998.
  2. THE TRIPLE THREATIn Northeastern fashion, the top forward line had a hot start to the season. The duo of sophomore Joe Connor and junior Dylan Hryckowian, centered by junior Matthew Perkins, recorded a combined seven points from four goals and three assists. Since his arrival to Matthews Arena, Hryckowian has found himself slotted on the Huskies' top scoring line for three seasons. Coming off of the 2024-25 season, Connor carries a three-game point streak that totals five points from three goals and two assists. Perkins earned a spot on Northeastern's top line and made an immediate impact, extending NU's lead to 3-1 against the Crusaders last Saturday to score his first goal as a Husky.
  3. MARTY PARTYFinding his spot as the left wing for the Huskies' second line, freshman Giacomo Martino potted his first career goal in his first collegiate game, giving NU the go-ahead goal in the opening frame. Martino was named a 2025 USHL First Team All-Star, took the Musketeers to the Clark Cup Conference semifinals in 2024-25 and to the Clark Cup Conference finals in 2023-24.
