BOSTON— The No. 8/9 Northeastern women's hockey team will take on Merrimack in a home-and-home series beginning on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at Matthews Arena. The Huskies will then travel to Merrimack on Saturday, Nov. 15 for a 1 p.m. puck drop.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+. Friday's home game will serve as NU's Military Appreciation game with a jersey auction in the lobby.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- CHARGED UP: The Huskies' power-play ranks third in the NCAA, converting at a .310 clip. Northeastern scored four power-play goals against BU on Saturday, Nov. 1, its most power-play goals since Feb. 26, 2022. Overall, offensively, the Huskies have scored 37 goals, the most among all Hockey East schools. Of the 37 goals, 13 have come on the power-play.
- A CONSTANT(INOPLE) PRESENCE: Senior Jules Constantinople, the reigning Hockey East Defender of the Week, leads all Hockey East defensemen with 10 points, four goals and six assists. All four of Constantinople's goals have come on the power-play, which is tied to lead all NCAA players and most among defensemen.
- WARRIORS COME OUT AND PLAY: The Huskies enter this matchup at 5-0-0 in Hockey East play, while the Warriors are still searching for their first Hockey East win. Sophomore netminder Lisa Jönsson started all three games against Merrimack last season, posting a 3-0-0 record with a .67 GAA and .972 save percentage with one shutout. Merrimack leads all Hockey East teams with 196 blocks on the season. The Warriors' leading scorer is Emma Pfeffer who has eight points on the season. In goal, Adreanna Doucette has started the bulk of the games, and she owns a 3.10 GAA and .914 save percentage.
The Huskies will next travel to Maine for a two-game series beginning on Friday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
