Xavier Abreu has been named the CAA Player of the Week.

The rookie shot 56.3% from the floor to go with 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per contest. Abreu registered his first career double-digit scoring effort with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting, while logging three steals at Princeton.Â

His standout performance came on Saturday in the Huskies' 93-86 win over Duquesne, notching the highest scoring output by a CAA player this season with 32 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Abreu also added five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block in the final minute of the game to lead the Huskies to victory.Â

The Lynn, Mass., native is the 12th freshman in team history, and the first since 2020, to score at least 32 points in a game.

He's third on the team averaging 10.8 points per game and shooting 53% overall this season. Abreu and the Huskies will be back in action next Friday when Northeastern travels to Wake Forest for a 12 p.m. tip on ACCNX.
