BOSTON, Mass. — The Northeastern men's hockey team returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 29, hosting Brown for a 4 p.m. single-game matinee at Matthews Arena. The matchup caps a celebratory weekend for the Huskies, featuring Senior Day, Dad's Weekend, and the program's annual Breaking Barriers game.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- NON-CONFERENCE NOTABLES:Â Northeastern has excelled outside league play this season, posting a 4-1-0 record against non-conference opponents, highlighted by a top-10 upset of then-No. 7 Denver. The Huskies have outscored non-conference foes 14-8, driven by production from junior Dylan Hryckowian, who leads the team with seven points (3g, 4a) in those five contests. He's followed closely by junior Tyler Fukakusa (5a) and freshman Jacob Mathieu (1g, 4a), who have each contributed five points.
- LINE OF FIRE:Â Junior Dylan Hryckowian and freshman Jacob Mathieu pace the Huskies in every major scoring category with 13 points apiece. Hryckowian owns the team lead in goals (7), while Mathieu ranks first in assists (10). Since being united as a line on Nov. 8 against Stonehill, the pair -- alongside freshman Amine Hajibi -- has become one of Northeastern's most productive units. The trio has combined for 14 points (five goals, nine assists), averaging 2.8 points per game.
- LIONS & TIGERS... NOPE, JUST BEARS: Brown owns the all-time advantage in the series, holding a 48-28-2 lead. The recent slate tells a tighter story -- over the last 20 meetings, Northeastern carries a narrow 10-9-1 edge and a 79-77 scoring advantage. In their most recent contest on Dec. 7, 2024, the Huskies claimed a 4-3 victory, powered by three-point performances from Vinny Borgesi and Cam Lund (one goal and two assist each).
