BUIES CREEK, N.C. — The Northeastern volleyball team (9-13, 5-8 CAA) fell in four sets to Campbell (19-5, 11-2 CAA) on Friday evening at Gilbert Craig Gore Arena.

Set One: Campbell dominated the opening frame, racing out to a 7-1 lead behind three service aces from Maja Daca. The Camels extended their advantage to 10-4, forcing an early Northeastern timeout. Despite a brief Huskies rally that cut the deficit to 15-11 on kills from Svenja Rodenbüsch and Brynn Smith, Campbell pulled away with a decisive run to claim the 25-15 victory.
Set Two: Northeastern responded emphatically in the second set, turning the match around with dominant play. The Huskies jumped ahead 6-2 on a pair of service aces from Nadia Koanui, forcing a Campbell timeout. Beatrice Gennari delivered a service ace to push the lead to 12-5, and Northeastern maintained control throughout. Valentina Meirelles powered the Huskies' attack with four kills in the set, while Campbell committed six attack errors. Northeastern closed out the decisive 25-13 victory on an attack error by Hailey Heytvelt, evening the match at 1-1.
Set Three: The third set featured intense back-and-forth action with eight tie scores and three lead changes. Northeastern built a 16-13 lead on a service ace from Rodenbuesch, but Campbell answered with a 6-2 run to take a 19-16 advantage. The Huskies fought back to 21-21 on kills from Meirelles and Gennari, but the Camels closed strong. Campbell scored the final four points on a 4-2 run, to win 25-23 and take a 2-1 match lead.
Set Four: Campbell carried momentum into the decisive fourth set, building leads of 8-6 and 13-10. The Camels extended to 20-15 on a kill from Daca, and despite a late Northeastern push that brought it to 23-21 on a service error, Campbell finished strong. The Camels sealed the match with back-to-back kills from Aley Clent and Daca to complete the 25-21 victory and 3-1 match win.
Northeastern and Campbell will close out the series on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. A live stream is not available but fans can follow along with live stats here.
