BOSTON - Northeastern freshman
Abigail Gowern earned herself the CAA Co-Rookie Swimmer of the Month.
Gowern delivered standout performances across two November/December meets for Northeastern. At the Terrier Invitational, the freshman captured second in the 500 free, clocking 4:55.24—the fifth-fastest time in the CAA. The Hooksett, N.H. native followed with a runner-up finish in the 1650 free, touching the wall at 16:46.77, the top mark in the conference this season.
In Northeastern's victory over New Hampshire, Gowern swept the distance events with wins in both the 500 free and 1000 free. She swam a time of 5:09.41 in the 500, and a 10:34.90 in the 1000 free.Â
Gowern and the Huskies resume there season on Jan. 16 at the Tate Ramsden Invitational hosted by Dartmouth College.Â
