Northeastern Set For Beanpot Semifinals Against Boston College

BOSTON — The Northeastern Huskies take a break from Hockey East action to gear up for the 72nd annual Dunkin' Men's Beanpot tournament. Northeastern will take on No. 1 Boston College in the semifinal round at 8 p.m. on NESN this Monday, Feb. 3.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
  1. TAMING THE BIRDS: The most recent meeting between the two programs was earlier this season on Nov. 23, 2024, at Matthews Arena where the Huskies were victorious by a score of 4-2. The opening frame saw four goals combined between the teams, including the eventually game-winner by junior Jack Williams. Northeastern was led by three-point efforts from junior Jackson Dorrington (1g, 2a) and sophomore Dylan Hryckowian (2g, 1a). Goaltender Cameron Whitehead finished with 30 total saves.
  2. O CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Captain Jack Williams has been hot as of late, tallying 11 points in the month of January alone from four goals and seven assists, including two game-winning goals and one shorthanded. Additionally, the Maine native has collected 45 faceoff wins, 16 shots, seven blocks and a plus-four rating. He currently stands as the only Husky to record at least one point in every win this season, totaling 19 points (9a, 10a) across all NU victories.
  3. FIRSTS ARE BEST: In NU's most recent outing, sophomore Eli Sebastian recorded his first collegiate goal against No. 6 Maine on Fri., Jan. 31st with a game-tying tally. Sebastian joins rookies James Fisher and Joe Connor who also tallied their career first during the 2024-25 season. Fisher's came against Merrimack on Sat., Dec. 14, while Connor's came against No. 11 Providence on Nov. 8.
